Navigating a purposeful and structured path has always been my professional calling; nevertheless, in the face of changing tides and emerging challenges, I have consistently maintained the flexibility needed to embrace the best possible solutions. To me, technology is not merely a profession, but a vibrant platform for generating novel ideas and shaping the future, one that resonates deeply with my inquisitive spirit. Along this journey, the concurrent experiences of pursuing academic studies, full-time employment, and founding a personal business have instilled in me the essence of resilience, accountability, and the ability to thrive under high-pressure conditions. I am now eager to draw upon my thirst for continuous learning and collaborative teamwork, offering my creative insights to a dynamic organization to forge new horizons through mutual growth.

Every story has a beginning. Ours came into being on a dimly lit afternoon, gathered around a table upon which we had laid our brightest dreams. Before us stood a beloved child; to nurture its growth, we needed a measure of hope—and an abundance of heart, heart, and yet more heart. Hope was already woven into the very fabric of its creation, and so we entrusted it with our devotion. What now lies before you is the fruit of that shared spirit and a heartfelt invitation to all who find themselves companions in our story. We are but humble hosts to those who kindle light, steadfast in our belief that spring and illumination will always prevail over barrenness and darkness. Through the trust and companionship of writers from Iran, Afghanistan, and across the world, *Ham-Dastan* now places its inaugural issue into your hands and before your eyes. We are fully aware that this tender spring shoot still has a long journey ahead before it reaches maturity and fulfillment. For this reason, our channels of communication remain open for dialogue, reflection, and the exchange of ideas, so that the cultural responsibility shared by all thinkers and concerned voices of our common language may contribute to the flourishing of what belongs to us all. Supporting gifted voices that have long remained unheard, striving to foster a genuine plurality of perspectives, emphasizing analytical thought and constructive criticism, upholding the highest content and technical standards, honoring those distinguished figures whose influence continues to inspire us, and embracing many other shared values—these ideals have formed the foundation of this small collective. It is our sincere hope that this gathering will continue to grow in vitality, richness, and purpose with each passing season.

Despite all the intellectual differences that have always existed between us, my poet and writer friend, Dr. Peter Schütt, has written about me on many occasions, revealing both my virtues and my flaws with remarkable candor. He has written that I was born in Iran and that I live and work in St. Georg, Germany—a neighborhood where people of countless nationalities from every corner of the world coexist in peace and harmony. He has also noted that I attended his creative writing workshop for many years, and that he collected all of my writings, as well as our correspondence, and entrusted them to the Hamburg Central Library for preservation. He believes that I possess a fair measure of talent in a variety of fields and that I spend far more time thinking than speaking. Those, at least, are the things he has said about me. And Germans, after all, are not known for exaggeration.

They named me Shakiba; a daughter of the Alborz slopes, where my green eyes drew their inspiration from the depths of the Hyrcanian forests. From my very childhood, rather than listening to nursery rhymes, my ears were attuned to the whispers of the wind through the branches and the legends my grandmother told of civilizations slumbering beneath the earth. My mustard-yellow sweater is a reminder of the morning sun casting its glow upon my desk, in those very moments when I make words dance with a pen forged from hope. My long, wavy hair is the narrator of an endless tale of my journeys and dreams, a story that knows no end. Thirsting for the truth, I turned my pen into the scales of justice, venturing through the dust of the mundane to seek out silenced voices. I am a journalist who does not merely settle for reporting events, but rather strives to understand their beating soul. Yet, the material world was not enough for my soaring spirit, so I took refuge in poetry. My verses, like a ray of light in the darkness, speak of love, loss, and rebirth. I have woven stories where the past and the future intertwine in a single fleeting moment. Today, with this same warm and familiar smile, I am an architect who builds palaces of dreams for you using the bricks of words; a journalist who remains fiercely loyal to the truth; and a poet whose song is woven from light upon the wind.

Since my youth, I have had a great interest in writing stories and recording real life events that teach us something. But the various tasks and troubles of life never gave me the opportunity to write fully. However, I have written many short stories that I never had the opportunity to publish, and of course I did not seek publication! Until a constant companion encouraged me to publish my stories.

Melinda, a legendary Filipina artist and entrepreneur, stands as a profound symbol of resilience, love, and the triumph of light over darkness. Born into a small, impoverished coastal village on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, Melinda spent her early years working as a pearl diver, constantly battling the harshness of nature and absolute poverty. When a devastating typhoon shattered her village and the livelihood she shared with her husband, Mateo, Melinda refused to surrender to despair. Instead, she discovered a miraculous path to survival. Gathering shattered shells and debris left in the wake of the storm, she began crafting breathtaking works of art. Her creations, a pure reflection of her deep faith and boundless love, soon transcended the borders of her village, earning her international acclaim. In her later years, Melinda dedicated the wealth generated by her art to educating the women and children of her community, transforming San Juan from a forgotten slum into a sanctuary of art and hope.
